A goal is the result the AI works towards in every conversation on an account. Each LinkedIn account has its own goal, set on the AI and goals page.
The five goals
| Goal | What the AI works towards |
|---|---|
| Book a call | A booked call. It shares your scheduling link when it asks for one. |
| Get a link opened | Getting your link opened. Each person gets their own tracked copy, so an open is measured, not guessed. |
| Collect contact details | The contact details you ask for in your instructions, such as a work email or a phone number. |
| Get a referral | A name, or an introduction to the right person. |
| Custom goal | A result you describe in your own words. |
With no goal set, the AI answers questions and keeps the conversation moving.
Set the goal
- Choose the account with the switcher at the top of the sidebar.
- Open AI and goals. The Goal and playbook tab is shown.
- Under Goal, press the goal you want. Pressing it again clears it.
- Fill in the field that appears: for Book a call, the Scheduling link, which also fills
{calendar}in messages; for Get a link opened, the link to get opened; for Custom goal, the goal in your words. - Press Save changes.
Links must start with https://.
How a goal is counted
Under How a goal is counted there are four switches. Any way that is switched on counts the goal as reached.
- The AI judges it: from what was said in the conversation. You can overrule it in the Inbox.
- I mark it: you mark it yourself in the Inbox. Your mark always stands.
- Tracked link opened: counts when the person opens their copy of your link.
- Booking confirmed: counts when a connected booking tool confirms it.
Two details:
- For Get a link opened, the AI's judgment never counts the goal as reached. The click does, and so does your own mark.
- A link preview or a crawler that fetches the link is not counted as the person opening it.
Mark a goal yourself
- Open the conversation in the Inbox.
- In the person's panel, under Goal, press Mark goal reached or Not reached.
Your mark overrules the AI's judgment. Clear my mark hands the judgment back.
Where reached goals show
- The Home page shows the goal and how many were reached this month.
- Each account's card on the Accounts page shows the same.
- Reports counts Goals reached for the range you pick.
- You get the alert A goal was reached, unless you switched it off.
