Every email NurtureLead sends from your mailbox ends with two things: your business postal address and an unsubscribe link. That goes for email steps in a workflow and for replies sent by email. There is no setting that leaves them out.
What is added
After your own text, the email ends with:
- your postal address, as you typed it,
- a line that starts with
Unsubscribe:followed by a link that belongs to that one person.
The email also carries the information that lets a mail program show its own unsubscribe button.
Set your postal address
No email goes out from an account until its postal address is filled in. Only an owner or an admin can set it.
- Open Accounts.
- On the account's card, under Mailbox for email steps, press Connect a mailbox, or Manage if one is connected.
- Fill in Postal address at the end of every email: company name, street, city, postcode and country. It can be up to 300 characters.
- Press Save.
The address is set for each LinkedIn account. If the card says Add your postal address: no email goes out without it, this is what is missing.
What the person sees
- They click the link in your email.
- A page asks Unsubscribe from these emails? with the button Yes, unsubscribe me.
- After they press it, the page says they are unsubscribed.
Opening the link alone does not unsubscribe anyone. Mail security scanners open every link in an email, so the button is what counts. The unsubscribe button of a mail program works as well.
What unsubscribing does
- The person is never emailed again from that account.
- They are not emailed from the other LinkedIn accounts in the same workspace either.
- An email that was waiting to go out to them is cancelled.
- An email step that comes up for them later is skipped, and they move on to the next step.
- The Activity list on the Home page records that they unsubscribed.
What it does not do
Unsubscribing is about email. It does not take the person out of a workflow, so steps on LinkedIn still run for them. To stop those too, remove the person from the workflow on the Active page.
Your part
You are responsible for the lists you upload and the emails you send, as the Terms say. The link and the address are added for you. Who you write to, and what you write, is up to you.
