When LinkedIn asks for a verification code

What to do when LinkedIn asks for a verification code or a security check, during sign-in or later.

LinkedIn may ask for a verification code or a security check. It can happen while you sign in, and it can happen later, while the account is running.

NurtureLead does not answer these checks for you. The account waits, and you complete the check yourself in the sign-in window.

What happens when LinkedIn asks

  • The account stops by itself. Nothing more is sent from it until the check is done.
  • Its card on the Accounts page shows Waiting for a verification code, with the reason under it.
  • You get the alert LinkedIn asks for a verification code: in the app, by email and as a browser notification, unless you switched one of those off.
  • Your other accounts keep running.
  • Everyone in a workflow on that account keeps their place.

Enter the code

  1. Open Accounts.
  2. Press Enter the code on the account. The sign-in window opens and shows LinkedIn's own page.
  3. Do what LinkedIn's page asks. If LinkedIn sent a code to the owner of the LinkedIn account, get the code from them, click the code field on LinkedIn's page and type it there.
  4. When LinkedIn accepts it, the window says Signed in and closes by itself. The account carries on from where it stopped.

If the account's card still says it needs you after that, press Resume on the card.

During the first sign-in

If LinkedIn asks for a code while you are connecting an account, the sign-in window moves to its third step, Verification code. Type the code into LinkedIn's page in the same way. When LinkedIn accepts it, the window says Connected.

When the account belongs to someone else

When LinkedIn sends a code, it goes to the person who owns the LinkedIn account. If you run an account for a colleague or a client, ask them for the code while the sign-in window is open.

The sign-in window closes by itself after ten minutes without use. If the code takes longer to arrive, press Open it again and carry on.

What NurtureLead does not do

NurtureLead does not solve security checks or enter codes for you, and it does not try again past a check. The account simply waits for you.

How often LinkedIn asks is LinkedIn's decision. LinkedIn can also limit or restrict an account that automates. The daily limits you set, and the safe values shown next to them, are described in Daily limits and safe values.
